Prantsusmaal 70-ndatel leiutatud hobupall on kiirelt levinud üle Euroopa muutudes järjest populaarsemaks. Alates 1992 aastast vőtavad iga-aastastest Euroopa Meistrivőistlustest osa 8 riiki. Mängima on hakatud kogu maailmas.
